Skin Care Routine

Skin Care Routine is as important as getting your monthly facials or your usual shopping or your any other lifestyle habit. Hence we can say, Skin Care is a lifestyle. And all it requires is a few useful products by your bedside you can apply onto your face before you sleep and after you wake up and freshen up.

Believe me, the iPhone is like a true friend who would point out your real flaws and push you to do better. I started taking my Skin Care Routine seriously after I got an iPhone, every time I would open the selfie camera or video chat, I would clearly see the uneven tone, acne scars and my dark circles and it would worry me a lot why am I having all of these flaws on my skin and why is iPhone being so brutally honest. But the good thing is I exactly knew where I lack and where I need to work on, on my skin.

So jotting down, I had these issues with my skin;

  1. Uneven skin tone, which means I had darker chin and forehead than my other face parts.
  2. Undeniable sunken eyes and dark circles
  3. Acne scars on my chin, cheeks and forehead
  4. Occasional Acne-Prone Skin, which means I was getting acne during monthlies or after applying some oily substance or something which doesn’t suit my skin, like yogurt, it always gives me acne.

So I started searching for products for the concerns I had which I stated above. My first choice was The Ordinary products for two reasons, 1- it was cheap compared to other pricy products in the market 2- they have a range of direct acids and I thought I needed something strong for my face which gives instant result instead of those products which take months to show the results.

here’s what I used for Uneven Skin tone;

Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%;

Niacinamide is Vitamin B3 which helps fight dullness, enlarged pores, uneven skin tone and fine lines, it also helps to reduce the appearance of blemishes. Plus the Zinc in the formula helps a lot in skin brightening as it has healing properties which make skin look healthier due to collagen boost.

I saw the results of this product within a week, I could see the difference on my face and Ali could see it too, he would ask me what am I using on my face cuz it looks fresh and healthy.

I used this product at both AM and PM along with my regular water-based moisturizer.

So this product pretty much was helpful for most of my skin concerns, be it acne, dullness or uneven skin tone.

Now what I used for Acne Scars?

Acne scars are the rigid dots on your skin that would not go off easily, you can rub them, you can prick them or even threaten to kill them but those scars just won’t budge off easily.

So I searched and searched and came down to one high-end product which is a bit slow in showing results but in the end, it’s worth the wait because it did clear my skin of those tiny dots called acne scars, not only that, it helped making my skin look healthier and plumpy. That product was Clinique’s “Even Better Dark Spot Corrector and Optimizer”. the image that they used to convince their customers was so satisfying that I fell for it. Off course I read the reviews of people who used it, I saw the ingredients too before buying and did my own research on how those ingredients are useful to reduce the acne scars. See the image yourself and tell me if you are not enticed by the super clear before and after of Mr Egg.
