Recently my mind gave me a zaberdast (fantastic) idea, that was to pen down the recipes of all home cooked good meals I have eaten. Like you went to a dawat and you liked something there, simply ask for the recipe and make it yours forever 😉
My mother in law is one AHmazing cook, she just have to touch the food and it becomes delicious. As we know, Sindhis are our finest cooks. Btw she is Sindhi.
Ali (you know him?) loves recipes of his mom, I would often surprise him at dinner cooking something learning the recipe from my mom in law.
This time I decided to get a journal and write down all of these recipes of both of my moms (that’s my mom and mom in law) so I have them with me forever and may be one day I could get them published (haha my dreams)
This is the first recipe I asked from mummy after buying the journal because I had to make fish at home hence the first recipe.
I bought my journal from typo, they had these beautiful ones with my favorite TV series Logos on it, double yay.

Okay now since I am gonna bake the fish, mummy told me only 20 minutes of marination will be sufficient.
And the below recipe is for half kg clean but uncut fish.
- Half kg fish meat
- 1 tb spoon yogurt
- 1 tb spoon lemon juice
- A pinch of turmeric powder
- 1 tea-spoon of cumin powder
- 1 tea-spoon of Chaat masala
- 1 tb spoon of ginger garlic paste
Well, mix all of the ingredients in a bowl (except the fish) and spread evenly over the fish. Voila you are done, wohoo.
Keep it in a cool dry place for 20 mins, and it’s ready for baking.
I preheated the oven on 230 degrees for 3 mins, polished some olive oil on the parchment, placed the fish on parchment and put it inside the oven for 30 minutes, 15 mins for each side. Which means you will have to flip the fish after 15 minutes.
(If you feel it’s not completely done, let it bake for 10 more mins)
Ta-da the dinner is ready.
I baked a potato with it as a side and put some olives in the corner of the plate too.
No sauce was used cuz the fish itself was so juicy and full of flavors.
